A very close and entertaining match. Matt D kept his current excellent form going with a max and a fine win over Ed in four, nearly coming back from 2-10 down in the first but lost in a deuce 11-13! The final score 12-14 11-9 13-11 11-9. JF got a good win over Matt I in four games which all went 11-9. John got a brace beating Clive in four and combined with Matt D in the doubles against Ed and Clive which saw some excellent table tennis from both pairs which Drayton won from 2-1 down 12-14 14-12 7-11 11-4 11-7. Well played all!!

Moreton A's first defeat of the season unexpectedly at the hand of Atomics. However this wasn't such a shock when the relative strength of the fielded sides was considered. Ian Royle played as a last-minute substitute and acquitted himself well. Daniel having one of his best seasons ever in Division 1 could justifiably feel aggrieved that he didn't have the "rub of the table" on the night -Neil beat him in 4 stealing the second game 12-10 with 4 consecutive nets. Had he gone two love down he may not have prevailed in 5. Daniels 5 set tussle with Anders was equally tense with the home man sneaking home 11-9 in the 5th. Charlie was undoubtedly the man of the match, rarely troubled by Anders and Neil and avenging his defeat by Pierre in 4 games. The table tennis was of the highest calibre and Charlie round his evening off by dominating the doubles with his trademark close to the net service returns. Has this drop of at least 2 points below expectation given the Hawks a chance of snatching the title?
